First Baptist Gallatin Kids Mission Statement

Our Preschool and Children’s Ministries exist to help children and families KNOW Jesus and His Word, GROW in their relationship with Him, SHOW His love through serving, and to GO take the Gospel to others.

Andy Penney
Children's Pastor
Andy and his wife Rachel have six wonderful children and one precious daughter-in-law between 8 and 23 years old. Andy was born and raised in Soddy-Daisy, TN, just a few miles North of Chattanooga. Rachel is originally from Neosho, MO. Living on a small farm in Castalian Springs, they have a genuine love for Sumner County. Andy graduated from Bryan College in Dayton, TN, with a B.A. in Christian Education. He was in Student Ministry for 15 years and has been serving in Children’s Ministry the past 16 years. Both Andy and Rachel love serving children and their families. Their goal is to see children accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and grow in their walk with Him. In his free time, Andy enjoys spending time with his family, coaching basketball, and cheering on the Tennessee Vols.

Kids FAQ's

HOW CAN MY CHILDREN PARTICIPATE?

Preschoolers are taught the Bible in both worship hours as well as during Life Group time.We offer Kids’ Worship at 8:30 and 11:00 for Kindergarten - 5th grade. Children worship through songs and Biblical teaching.  Age-graded Life Group classes are offered from 9:45 – 10:45. Parents pick up their children on the first floor.

ARE THERE SECURITY MEASURES IN PLACE FOR MY CHILD?

Yes.  All parents are asked to use the computer check-in station and then take their children to their designated rooms and pick them up at the conclusion. We ask that no children come or leave without a parent. All children will wear a two-part sticker. The child wears one part and the parent keeps the other half. When the parent returns to pick their child up, the teacher will compare the child's number to the parent's sticker number.

WHERE DO I GO?

When you arrive on the campus you can enter through the Smith Street entrance located behind the church (Kindergarten -5th Grade), or through the Welcome Center located at the front of the church (Bed Babies - Pre-K).  The preschool hallway will be around the corner from the large staircase in the Welcome Center, and past the Elevators. Please use the check-in stations and proceed to your child's classroom. The classrooms are marked by age.

Elementary students will attend classes on the first floor. We have check-in stations as you enter the hallway.

DOES YOUR CHURCH HAVE A DAYCARE PROGRAM?

Yes. We have a Parents Day Out Program on Monday-Thursday mornings from 9 am-2:15 pm. For more information, please call the church office and speak with our program director, Kristin Tidwell.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD ATTENDS MORE THAN ONE SERVICE?

We encourage families to attend two hours of activities on Sundays – one hour for worship and one hour for Life Group . Your child may attend the regular worship service with your family or attend Children’s Worship for Kindergarten – 5th grade with activities planned especially for their age. Preschoolers will be involved in Life Group for one hour and Extended Session during the worship hours.
